All events require a registration, even when free to attend. These terms are relevant to all paid events, with the exception of sessions that are marketed as part of NCRI Prime, which have their own T&Cs (see below).

If an event is chargeable, bookings are subject to successful card payment. Card accepted are: Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron, Maestro, American Express and JBC.

Full refunds for paid bookings will only be offered for cancellations made in writing up to 48 hours after the booking, provided there are at least 10 working days before the event starting date. After 48 hours of the booking, refunds will incur a £15 administration charge. No refunds will be offered for booking cancellations (or part thereof) made within 10 working days of the event start date. Substitutions are not possible and for virtual events, access links cannot be shared.

Places at events are guaranteed on written confirmation. Acceptance of delegates is at the discretion of the NCRI.

Concessions such as student or bursary rates are only available to full time students or Consumers (patient experts and full time carers). Proof of eligibility may be requested at any time. Failure to provide this will result in a cancellation.

In case that the event is cancelled or cannot take place for any reason outside the control of the NCRI, the registration fee shall be refunded in full. The liability of the NCRI shall be limited to that refund and the organisers shall not be liable for any other loss, cost or expense, howsoever caused, incurred or arising.

For virtual events, system requirements and supported platforms are as follows:

  • Supported operating systems: Windows 7 and later (32-bit and 64-bit), macOS X 10.10 and later
  • Supported mobile operating systems: Android 4.4 and later, iOS 10 and later
  • Supported web browsers: Chrome (last 3 versions), Edge RS2 and later, Firefox (last 3 versions), Internet Explorer 11, Safari
  • Note: Linux isn’t supported for live events

An internet connection is required to access virtual events.

No refund will be given if delegates do not access or are unable to access virtual events for reasons beyond the organisers’ control (e.g. inadequate system requirements, slow internet connection, etc.)

Delegates consent to filming and sound recordings as well as being listed as delegates of the event. Recordings and photography may be used for future marketing of NCRI.

When registering, delegates consent to their details (name, job title and organisation) being made available within the official NCRI Events App. This info is only available to other registered delegates.

NCRI reserve the right to alter the programme of events without prior notice. These terms and conditions are governed by English Law.


Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the NCRI is following UK government advice ( on the planning, postponement and cancellation of any face-to-face events.

Notice of any cancellations will be posted on our website and delegates advised accordingly.

In case of a cancellation by NCRI, registered delegates will receive a full refund of the fees paid to NCRI. NCRI is however not responsible for any travel or any other costs that delegates may have incurred.

Delegates who have to cancel their attendance at events scheduled to go ahead due to travel restrictions imposed by their local government and/or the UK government are entitled to a full refund upon presentation of documentary evidence. We are unable to offer a refund for any other circumstances outside of our standard terms and conditions.

NCRI is not responsible for any travel or any other costs that delegates may have incurred.


NCRI Prime 2022/23 is a series of webinars and other online sessions marketed by the organisers (“NCRI” or “we”) as part of this service.

If you decide to register for the NCRI Prime 2022/23, these terms will apply. “Delegate” means an individual registered delegate and “Unauthorised Person” means any person who is not a registered Delegate.

As a registered Delegate, you may:

  • Watch any event in the series on your personal device (live at the time the event is taking place or unlimited times on-demand) until the end of the series period (31 March 2023);

you may not:

  • re-sell or share the access links or your password with others;
  • make any materials related to the events available to Unauthorised Persons on a local area network, a wide area network or on any intranet or extranet;
  • locally record any sessions for your own use;
  • obscure or remove any copyright notices that appear on any materials.

NCRI reserve the right to suspend or terminate your registration at any time, with or without notice or explanation, if we believe you are breaching, or have breached, these terms in any way.

Twitter competitions are open to anyone with a Twitter account who registers (and completes payment) for the stated event between the time period advertised, excluding employees of the National Cancer Research Institute, their families or anyone else connected with this Competition. The National Cancer Research Institute reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.
  2. The winner will be selected from all eligible entries received before the Competition closing time, at the discretion of the National Cancer Research Institute. The winner will be notified following the Competition closing time by email. In the event that the winner fails to respond to the National Cancer Research Institute to confirm his/her acceptance of the Prize within two weeks from notification, the National Cancer Research Institute reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
