2:00 pm-3:30 pm

Room: Alsh

Programme stream(s): Treatment
Programme session type(s): Parallel session

Chair: Nicola Valeri, The Institute of Cancer Research
Speaker: Vivian Li, The Francis Crick Institute
Speaker: Calvin Kuo, Stanford Cancer Center, USA
Speaker: Chiara Maria Cattaneo, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam

The session will provide an overview on the promises and challenges in the use of organoids to model healthy and diseased tissues as well as cancer initiation and progression. We will explore opportunities to use organoids for drug development and to predict clinical outcomes.
We will also discuss recent advances in incorporating organoids and stroma or immune cells in ex vivo co-cultures.
Aim of this session is to provide insights on the potential of organoids for forward and reverse translation.
