Epigenetics – biology of non-genetic drivers of cancer (cancer and therapy)
Date and time: Thu 01-Jan-1970, 12:00 am-12:00 am
Programme stream(s): Cancer discovery / underpinning research , Treatment
Programme session type(s): Parallel session
This session is aimed to highlight the progress in understanding the epigenetic basis of cancer and how we can use information to find novel strategies to target tumours. The speakers will illustrate the alterations in the epigenome that can give prognostic value, the effect on gene regulation and highlight novel therapeutic approaches destined for the clinic. We will also be gaining a deeper understanding of the biological role epigenetics plays independently of genetic drivers. As compounds such as JQ1 find increasing clinical ground, this will provide a space to become familiar with new advances and potential future diagnostic tools and agents.
