This session focuses on how nutritional, hormonal, and genetic factors are related to various malignancies, particularly prostate and bowel cancers. Professor Giovannucci explores risk factors and known causes of cancer with a focus on how we could capitalise on preventive strategies, based on our current understanding of cause and effect mechanisms. The discussion also explores the effects of certain food components on healthy people and on cancer, in order to pinpoint how they work and understand how they could be protective.
